Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, which can sometimes differ from sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk, incorporating a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by participants’ beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing an outcome, they can express that view through trading activity. This can lead to discrepancies between the two, though they frequently converge as new information becomes available. It’s important to consider both when forming your own assessment.
