In the college football matchup between Syracuse and Pittsburgh, bettors can predict which team will score the first touchdown. The outcome depends entirely on the initial scoring play of the game, with all types of touchdowns—including offensive drives, defensive scores, and special teams plays—counting towards this determination.
The market resolves based on which team scores the first touchdown in the Syracuse vs Pittsburgh college football game scheduled for Sep 17, 2026. All touchdowns count, including those scored offensively, defensively, or via special teams. If the first touchdown occurs in overtime, the market for that team resolves to Yes. If neither team scores a touchdown during the entire game, including overtime, the market titled No team scores a TD resolves to Yes. Postponements within 48 hours of the original start time do not affect resolution; the market remains open and resolves based on the final official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own modeling and to balance action, while this market represents the aggregate beliefs of informed traders. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. While sportsbooks may initially have an edge, the continuous trading in this market can lead to surprisingly accurate forecasts, often incorporating insights not immediately reflected in sportsbook lines.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the probability of each team scoring the first touchdown. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the implied probability of that outcome. As more traders participate, the price fluctuates based on supply and demand. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and reflect the collective intelligence of its participants.
This market resolves around Sep 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team is officially recorded as scoring the first touchdown in the Syracuse vs Pittsburgh game. The official game statistics will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome. Traders holding contracts on the correct team at the time of resolution will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on the losing team will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Syracuse or Pittsburgh would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring one team's offensive style, could also shift the odds. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategy or coaching decisions could influence trader sentiment. Public perception, as reflected in betting trends and media coverage, can also contribute to fluctuations in this market.
