Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders, aims to reflect the true probability of the event occurring. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, prediction markets can quickly adjust to new information and potentially offer more accurate probabilities as the event approaches. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as more volume flows into this market.
