Switzerland faces Colombia in a FIFA World Cup soccer match on July 7, 2026. The market tracks which Swiss players are in the starting lineup when the match begins.
Resolution is determined by the official starting lineup and players on the field at kickoff. A player who is not in the initially announced starting lineup but appears in the official starting lineup at kickoff and on the field when play begins resolves Yes. A player named in the starting lineup but replaced or withdrawn before kickoff resolves No. Substitute appearances do not count. If the game does not occur before July 8, 2026, all markets resolve to No.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. Sportsbooks may move faster on breaking news due to professional risk management, whereas this market can sometimes price in longer-term uncertainty more efficiently. Both venues ultimately converge toward the true outcome, but timing and liquidity differences mean odds may vary meaningfully in the hours before the match begins.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different starting lineup outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share trades between 0 and 100 cents, with the price reflecting the collective probability assigned by active participants. As new information surfaces—team announcements, player fitness updates, or tactical shifts—traders adjust their bids and offers, moving the price in real time. The continuous auction process ensures prices remain responsive to the latest available evidence about Switzerland's likely starters.
This market resolves around Jul 7, 2026, once the Switzerland versus Colombia match concludes and the starting lineups are officially confirmed. The outcome is verified against credible public sources such as official team sheets released by the governing federation or major sports news outlets. Once the match begins and the actual starters are documented, the market settles according to which players took the field, and trader positions are finalized based on the verified result.
Several catalysts can shift odds in this market before resolution. Official team announcements or press conferences revealing tactical plans will likely trigger sharp repricing, especially if surprise lineup changes are signaled. Injury updates or fitness test results for key players can swing probabilities significantly. Media reports about player form, suspension risks, or last-minute roster decisions will also drive trading activity. Close to kickoff, any late-breaking news—such as a player being ruled out or a tactical pivot—typically produces the most volatile price moves as traders react to the freshest information.
