PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Polymarket and Kalshi define match resolution scope differently. Polymarket explicitly treats walkovers and pre-match withdrawals as 50-50 outcomes, while Kalshi's binary structure and phrase 'after a ball has been played' creates ambiguity about whether a walkover qualifies as a valid resolution.Hero tip: Monitor the official ATP announcement closely. If the match is canceled or one player withdraws before play begins, Polymarket will resolve 50-50 on the match winner market, but Kalshi's Yes/No structure may resolve differently depending on platform interpretation of 'after a ball has been played.' Request clarification from Kalshi support if withdrawal occurs pre-match.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Match winner resolves to the advancing player if match is completed or one player advances via retirement/default/disqualification during play. Walkovers (pre-match withdrawal) resolve 50-50. All game/set markets also resolve 50-50 if match is not completed or delayed beyond 7 days. Quote: 'If the match ends in a walkover (player withdraws before the start and the other advances automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50.'
  • Kalshi: Binary market resolves Yes if either player wins after a ball has been played. No explicit handling of walkovers, cancellations, or pre-match withdrawals. Quote: 'If Alexander Bublik wins the Mpetshi Perricard vs Bublik professional tennis match in the 2026 ATP Stuttgart Quarterfinal after a ball has been played, then the market resolves to Yes.'
