This market refers to the StarCraft II match between ShoWTimE and sebesdes in the HomeStory Cup XXIX Group B, initially scheduled for July 3 at 12:45PM ET. This market will resolve to "ShoWTimE" if ShoWTimE win the match against sebesdes. This market will resolve to "sebesdes" if sebesdes win the match against ShoWTimE. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page. However, if https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders risking real capital on outcomes they believe will occur. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper, more efficient pricing because traders have direct financial skin in the game. However, sportsbooks may occasionally offer better liquidity or tighter spreads on major esports events. Comparing both sources helps you identify value and understand how different markets assess the same match.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds for this match through an automated market maker mechanism, where buy and sell orders directly influence the price. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each contract represents a claim on one outcome, and the price reflects the collective belief of all active traders. As more capital flows into one side, the odds shift to reflect increased conviction. This continuous repricing ensures the market adapts in real time to new information, player performance data, or community sentiment about the matchup.
This market resolves around Jul 3, 2026, once the HomeStory Cup Group B match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official tournament result, determining which player wins the best-of-three series. Resolution occurs after the match is completed and the winner is announced by the event organizers or confirmed through reliable esports reporting. Traders should monitor the tournament schedule and official HomeStory Cup channels to stay informed of any delays or scheduling changes.
Several factors could shift odds before the match concludes. Recent tournament performances, player form, and head-to-head records between ShoWTimE and sebesdes often influence trader sentiment. Map pool announcements, patch changes to the game, or injury or technical issues affecting either player can trigger rapid repricing. Community analysis, expert predictions, and betting activity on related markets may also sway perception. As the match date approaches, increased media coverage and pre-game commentary typically drive volume and volatility. Any unexpected developments during the series itself will be immediately reflected in live trading.
