This market refers to the StarCraft II match between ShoWTimE and Lorimbo in the HomeStory Cup XXIX Group B, initially scheduled for July 3 at 2:45PM ET. This market will resolve to "ShoWTimE" if ShoWTimE win the match against Lorimbo. This market will resolve to "Lorimbo" if Lorimbo win the match against ShoWTimE. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page. However, if https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes differently. Sportsbooks set odds based on their risk models and aim to balance action on both sides; prediction markets instead aggregate the beliefs of many independent traders competing for profit. This market reflects crowdsourced expectations rather than a bookmaker's margin, often capturing real-time sentiment shifts faster than conventional betting lines. Both venues can diverge significantly depending on liquidity, information flow, and the sophistication of participants.
On Polymarket, traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome, with the share price reflecting the implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price adjusts continuously as new trades occur, meaning early movers and late traders may see different odds depending on order flow and liquidity depth. Polymarket's automated market maker mechanism ensures you can always execute trades, though slippage may apply during high-volume periods or when liquidity is thin.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on which player wins the best-of-three series. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as new developments—such as player form, recent tournament results, or community analysis—emerge and shift expectations.
Several catalysts could shift this market significantly. Recent tournament performances by either player, roster changes, patch updates affecting their preferred strategies, and community commentary from esports analysts all influence trader positioning. Injury or availability announcements, head-to-head record updates, or strong showings in warm-up matches leading up to HomeStory Cup XXIX could trigger sharp repricing. Live match commentary and early game results during the series itself will also drive rapid adjustments as traders react to in-game momentum.
