This market refers to the StarCraft II match between ShoWTimE and Elazer in the HomeStory Cup XXIX Group B, initially scheduled for July 3 at 3:45PM ET. This market will resolve to "ShoWTimE" if ShoWTimE win the match against Elazer. This market will resolve to "Elazer" if Elazer win the match against ShoWTimE. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page. However, if https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. For esports events like this one, prediction markets may react faster to roster changes, recent form, or community sentiment than traditional sportsbooks. Comparing the two can reveal where one venue undervalues or overvalues a particular outcome, though both should converge as the event approaches.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The top outcome currently reflects strong conviction around one side of the matchup. Prices move continuously as new trades execute, with each transaction adjusting the probability curve. Liquidity depth and order flow determine how quickly prices shift in response to breaking news or strategic repositioning by large traders.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the best-of-three series concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the required number of games under HomeStory Cup XXIX rules. No ambiguity typically surrounds esports match results, as the game client and broadcast record provide clear documentation. Resolution happens promptly after the final game concludes.
Key catalysts include recent tournament results, player form trends, and map pool announcements for the group stage. Community analysis, coaching staff changes, or hardware/connection issues during practice can shift trader conviction. Live commentary and early game outcomes during the broadcast itself typically drive the largest price swings as traders update their models based on real-time performance. Unexpected roster substitutions or rule clarifications from tournament organizers could also trigger repricing before the series begins.
