This market refers to the StarCraft II match between ShoWTimE and Arrogfire in the HomeStory Cup XXIX Group B, initially scheduled for July 3 at 1:45PM ET. This market will resolve to "ShoWTimE" if ShoWTimE win the match against Arrogfire. This market will resolve to "Arrogfire" if Arrogfire win the match against ShoWTimE. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page. However, if https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader belief and capital allocation. Esports betting markets, particularly for niche events like HomeStory Cup, may see wider gaps between venues due to lower liquidity and specialized knowledge among participants. Comparing this market's odds to available sportsbook lines can reveal where the crowd's consensus differs from professional oddsmakers.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker that adjusts odds based on buy and sell volume. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome has a price between 0 and 1 representing its implied probability, and traders profit by correctly predicting which player wins the best-of-three series. The more capital flowing into one outcome, the higher its price rises. This continuous price discovery mechanism ensures the market reflects real-time consensus about ShoWTimE and Arrogfire's relative chances.
This market resolves around Jul 3, 2026, once the HomeStory Cup Group B match concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the best-of-three series in the official competition. Traders holding positions on the correct outcome receive their payout once the result is confirmed and the market settles. Early resolution may occur if the match is cancelled or postponed under exceptional circumstances.
Several factors could shift odds before this market resolves. Recent tournament results, player form, and head-to-head records between ShoWTimE and Arrogfire influence trader confidence. Roster changes, equipment issues, or public statements from either competitor can trigger rapid repricing. Broader esports news, patch updates affecting game balance, or unexpected bracket changes may also sway sentiment. As the match date approaches, increased media coverage and expert analysis typically drive higher trading volume and volatility in this market.
