This market refers to the StarCraft II match between Elazer and sebesdes in the HomeStory Cup XXIX Group B, initially scheduled for July 3 at 4:45PM ET. This market will resolve to "Elazer" if Elazer win the match against sebesdes. This market will resolve to "sebesdes" if sebesdes win the match against Elazer. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page. However, if https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Main_Page has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and protect their margin, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital. For esports matchups like this one, prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper pricing because traders have direct financial exposure to accuracy. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal whether the crowd is pricing in factors that conventional oddsmakers may have overlooked or weighted differently.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome has a price between 0 and 1 reflecting the collective probability estimate. When more traders believe Elazer will win, they purchase Elazer shares, pushing that price upward and the opposing outcome downward. Conversely, confidence in sebesdes strengthens that side's price. The spread between outcomes tightens or widens based on new information, player form, and betting flow, creating a dynamic price discovery mechanism that updates continuously until the match concludes.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the HomeStory Cup XXIX Group B match between the two players concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome hinges on who wins the best-of-three series under the tournament's official rules and format. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout once the event is confirmed and the platform processes settlement. Until that point, prices may fluctuate based on live match developments, player performance, and community sentiment.
Several factors could shift prices before the match begins or during play. Recent tournament results, map pool announcements, and player form leading up to HomeStory Cup XXIX may trigger trading activity. Live match developments—such as early series momentum, map selection outcomes, or in-game decision-making—often cause sharp price swings as traders update their expectations. News about player health, technical issues, or roster changes could also influence odds. Additionally, community commentary and expert analysis shared on esports platforms may sway trader sentiment, causing this market to reprice as new information surfaces.
