Frequently asked questions

On Limitless, the Starbucks vs McDonald's stock performance market dashboard tracks real-time odds and price history for which company will post a higher weekly percentage gain in share price. This market aggregates trader positions and liquidity to display the current implied probability for each outcome. The dashboard shows 24-hour volume activity, allowing you to gauge market interest and trading momentum. By monitoring these metrics, participants can observe how sentiment shifts as new financial data, earnings reports, or market conditions emerge. The interface provides a transparent view of how the crowd is pricing each stock's near-term performance relative to the other.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and collective trader intelligence rather than individual research reports. While equity analysts typically focus on long-term valuations and fundamental metrics, this market prices short-term weekly performance—a horizon where sentiment, technical factors, and unexpected news can dominate. Traders betting on weekly gains may incorporate signals that sell-side analysts overlook or weight differently. Comparing the implied probabilities here to consensus price targets or earnings estimates can reveal where the crowd sees near-term upside or downside that the analyst community has underestimated or overweighted.

On Limitless, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for each outcome. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the equilibrium between buyers and sellers, with tighter spreads indicating higher confidence and liquidity. As new information arrives—such as quarterly earnings, same-store sales data, or macroeconomic shifts—traders adjust their positions, moving the odds in real time. The continuous pricing model ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date consensus on which stock is more likely to outperform over the specified week.

This market resolves around Jun 22, 2026, at which point the outcome is determined by comparing the weekly percentage gains of both stocks over the specified period. The winner is the company posting the higher gain, verified against credible public sources such as major financial data providers or official exchange records. Once the trading window closes and the relevant price data is finalized, the market settles automatically based on the verified performance figures. Traders holding positions on the winning outcome receive their payout, while those on the losing side forfeit their stake.

Several catalysts could shift odds significantly before resolution. Earnings announcements from either company—particularly same-store sales growth, margin trends, or forward guidance—often trigger sharp repricing. Macroeconomic data such as consumer spending reports, inflation readings, or interest rate decisions affect both stocks but may favor one over the other depending on their business models and leverage. Management commentary on pricing power, cost pressures, or expansion plans can reshape trader expectations. Additionally, sector-wide news, competitor actions, or unexpected operational disruptions could create volatility. Real-time market moves in the broader equity market may also amplify or dampen weekly performance swings for either name.
