Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market relies on traders directly expressing their beliefs about the probability of each player winning. If there’s a significant discrepancy, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. However, it’s important to note that sportsbook odds are influenced by factors like public betting patterns and house biases, which may not be present in this market.
