This event tracks the outcome of the first five innings of the St. Louis Cardinals versus Minnesota Twins baseball game scheduled for June 12, 2026. The market resolves based on which team has the higher score after exactly five complete innings, or if the teams are tied at that point.
Resolution is determined by comparing the score of the St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Twins at the conclusion of the fifth inning of their game originally scheduled for June 12, 2026 at 8:10 PM EDT. If St. Louis has more runs after five innings, the St. Louis outcome resolves to Yes. If Minnesota has more runs after five innings, the Minnesota outcome resolves to Yes. If both teams have an equal number of runs after five innings, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes and all team-specific outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and will close after the rescheduled game concludes, within two days of the original scheduled date.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and protect their margins, while prediction markets aggregate beliefs from traders risking real capital on outcomes. This market may show materially different odds than major sportsbooks, particularly as new information surfaces or as the game approaches. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd on Kalshi sees value differently than professional oddsmakers. Savvy traders monitor both venues to identify mispricings, though each operates independently with distinct rules and settlement procedures.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for contracts tied to specific first-five-inning outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform matches buyers and sellers in real time, and the last-traded price reflects the consensus belief at that moment. Prices range from near zero to near one hundred, representing the implied probability of each outcome. As new information arrives—such as starting pitcher confirmation or weather updates—traders adjust their orders, causing prices to move. The continuous price discovery process ensures that this market remains responsive to all available information up until the first pitch.
This market resolves around Jun 13, 2026, once the first five innings of the St. Louis versus Minnesota game are complete and the outcome is verifiable from credible public sources. The result is determined solely by what occurs during those initial five innings; any events in innings six through nine do not affect settlement. Traders holding positions will see their contracts cash out based on which outcome occurred during that window. The exact resolution time depends on game pace and any delays, but the market closes to new trading shortly after the fifth inning concludes.
Several catalysts can shift odds significantly before the first pitch and during early innings. Starting pitcher announcements, bullpen availability, and last-minute lineup changes often trigger sharp price moves. Weather conditions—wind speed, temperature, and precipitation—affect ball carry and scoring likelihood. Injury reports on key position players or recent performance trends in first-inning scoring can sway trader sentiment. Once the game begins, early runs, hits, and pitcher effectiveness will drive rapid repricing. Trades by informed participants who spot value relative to sportsbooks or other prediction markets can also accelerate price movement, making this market dynamic throughout the pre-game and early-game phases.
