If St. Louis has more runs after 3 innings, the St. Louis outcome resolves to Yes. If Chicago C has more runs after 3 innings, the Chicago C outcome resolves to Yes. Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one aggregate the genuine beliefs of traders risking real capital. For this market, comparing the prediction market price to major sportsbook lines on the same matchup can reveal whether informed traders see value the books may have missed or mispriced. Both sources offer useful signals, but they operate independently.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers that determine the real-time odds. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price you see reflects the last executed trade and the current spread between buy and sell orders. As new information emerges—injury reports, weather updates, or lineup changes—traders adjust their positions, moving the price to reflect the latest consensus on the outcome of the first three innings.
This market resolves around Jul 5, 2026, once the St. Louis versus Chicago Cubs game has been played and the result of the first three innings is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the actual score and events that occur during that specific window, confirmed through standard sports reporting and official league records. Until that point, the market remains open for trading as new developments and real-time game action influence trader positioning.
Several catalysts could shift this market before it resolves. Lineup announcements, starting pitcher confirmations, and last-minute roster changes often trigger sharp price moves. Weather conditions at game time, injury updates to key players, and recent team performance trends all influence trader conviction. Additionally, early-game momentum—runs scored or momentum swings in the first inning or two—will drive live trading activity and repricing as the event unfolds. Monitor team news and weather forecasts closely for the most impactful signals.
