Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity levels, and risk tolerances, which naturally produces price variation. Polymarket and Kalshi also operate under distinct rule sets and fee structures, affecting how quickly prices adjust to new information. Lower trading volume on one platform can amplify price swings, while larger platforms with deeper liquidity tend to converge toward efficient pricing. These differences create opportunities for cross-platform traders but also reflect genuine uncertainty in the market.
Key catalysts include roster changes, injury announcements to star players, recent team performance trends, and head-to-head matchup history. Weather conditions on game day, bullpen availability, and lineup adjustments can shift trader sentiment significantly. Media narratives, betting syndicate activity, and line moves at major sportsbooks often trigger repricing here as well. Monitoring team news and broader baseball developments will help you anticipate market movements before they're fully priced in.
