This event tracks which Spanish players will be in the starting lineup for the Spain vs Belgium FIFA World Cup match scheduled for July 10, 2026. Each market resolves based on whether a specific player appears on the field at kickoff, regardless of whether they were initially announced in the pre-match lineup.
Resolution is determined by the official starting lineup and players on the field when the match begins on or before July 11, 2026. A player who is not in the initially announced starting lineup but appears in the official starting lineup at kickoff and on the field when play begins resolves to Yes. Conversely, a player named in the starting lineup but replaced or withdrawn before kickoff resolves to No. Substitute appearances do not count toward resolution. If the match does not occur before July 11, 2026, all markets resolve to No.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance liability and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus and real-money conviction. Sportsbooks may move more slowly in response to breaking news, whereas traders here can react instantly to injury announcements or lineup leaks. Over time, prediction markets have proven competitive with or more accurate than traditional oddsmakers on sports outcomes, especially when information asymmetries favor informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers that determine the real-time odds. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome contract trades independently, and the price reflects the marginal trader's willingness to buy or sell at that moment. As new information surfaces—team announcements, injury updates, or tactical shifts—traders adjust their positions, causing the price to move. This mechanism ensures the market price incorporates the latest available intelligence about Spain's starting XI.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once the Spain versus Belgium match concludes and the official starting lineups are confirmed. The outcome is verified against credible public sources, including official team sheets and major sports news outlets. Once the match begins and the XI are locked in, the market settles based on which players actually took the field for Spain. Early resolution may occur if official lineups are announced before kickoff, allowing traders to exit positions with certainty.
Several catalysts can shift odds in this market before resolution. Injury announcements or fitness updates about key Spain players will trigger sharp repricing, as will tactical leaks or manager statements about formation changes. Transfer news or recent club-form developments may also influence trader conviction. Media reports on team selection dilemmas, suspension risks, or surprise call-ups can spark volatility. As the match date approaches, official team-sheet releases and pre-match press conferences typically generate the largest moves, with the final lineup announcement locking in the outcome.
