This market focuses on predicting which team will score the first touchdown in an upcoming college football game. It includes scenarios where either team scores first or if no touchdown is scored at all during the game, including any overtime periods. The outcome depends purely on the game's live progression and scoring events.
The market determines which team, if any, will score the first touchdown in the Southern Utah vs Colorado State college football game scheduled for September 12, 2026. If Colorado State scores the first touchdown—whether offensively, defensively, or via special teams, even in overtime—the corresponding market resolves to Yes. The same applies if Southern Utah scores first. If neither team scores a touchdown at any point in the game, including overtime, the “No team scores a TD” market resolves to Yes. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of its original start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. All touchdowns count toward resolution, regardless of how they are scored.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likelihood of each team scoring first. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously buying and selling contracts on Kalshi and at a sportsbook. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief in the probability of each team scoring the first touchdown. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing a 0% to 100% chance of that outcome. As more people buy contracts for a specific team, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the collective assessment of all traders participating in this market, providing a real-time probability estimate.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scores the first touchdown in the Southern Utah vs Colorado State game. The result will be based on official game statistics and play-by-play data. Any disputes regarding the outcome will be assessed against publicly available information to ensure a fair and accurate resolution of this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game concludes. News regarding key player injuries on either team would likely cause significant movement, as would any changes to the projected weather conditions. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team lineups could also shift traders' expectations. Furthermore, as the game approaches, any late-breaking news or analysis from sports analysts could impact the perceived probabilities, leading to fluctuations in the price of contracts on Kalshi.
