Prediction market odds, like those found on Kalshi and Predict, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set initial odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. This can lead to discrepancies, as prediction markets may incorporate information not immediately factored into sportsbook odds, such as late-breaking news or subtle shifts in public opinion. However, both types of odds aim to accurately predict the probability of an event occurring.
