These markets evaluate different scoring thresholds for the first half of a college football game between South Florida and Army. Each threshold represents a specific point total that, if exceeded by the combined scores of both teams in the first half, determines the outcome of that particular market.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first half of the South Florida vs Army college football game scheduled for September 12, 2026. Each market has a unique threshold, and if the combined first-half score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to 'Yes.' If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the first half count toward these markets.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions on team strengths, injuries, or even weather conditions. Often, prediction markets are more accurate than traditional odds, especially closer to the event, as they aggregate a wider range of perspectives.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible outcomes. The price of a contract reflects the market's collective belief about the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth and trading activity determine how efficiently prices reflect new information. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate assessments, as they profit from correctly predicting the event's outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the first half of the South Florida vs Army football game will determine whether the total goes over or under the implied line. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and will be publicly available shortly after the conclusion of the first half. Traders will then be paid out based on their positions in this market.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either South Florida or Army would likely cause price movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse playing conditions, could also impact the market. Late-breaking news about coaching decisions or team strategies could also shift trader sentiment. Finally, as kickoff approaches, any significant betting activity in traditional sportsbooks could create arbitrage opportunities and move prices on Kalshi.
