This set of markets evaluates various thresholds of points scored in the first quarter of a college football game between South Carolina and Alabama. Each threshold represents a different level of scoring intensity that bettors can wager on, reflecting expectations about the game's opening quarter dynamics.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first quarter of the South Carolina vs Alabama college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (ranging from over 2.5 to over 27.5 points); if the combined score exceeds the threshold, the market resolves to Yes. Only points scored in the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the likely outcome. It’s common to see differences emerge, especially as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts. Analyzing these differences can be valuable for informed decision-making, though it's important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their predictions about the total points scored in the first quarter. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more traders buy contracts predicting a certain outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism means the market constantly adjusts to incorporate new information and changing opinions, providing a real-time assessment of the likely result.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the first quarter of the South Carolina vs Alabama game will be used to determine whether the total points scored were over or under the threshold defined by the contracts traded on Kalshi. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and verifiable result. Traders holding contracts on the correct side will receive a payout, while those on the incorrect side will forfeit their stake.
Several factors could influence the price of this market leading up to the game. Any news regarding key player injuries for either South Carolina or Alabama would likely have a significant impact, as it alters the perceived strength of each team. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to a high-scoring or low-scoring game, could also move the market. Furthermore, any late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could affect trader sentiment and shift the odds. Public perception, as reflected in social media and sports news, can also play a role.
