PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's market contains a logical tautology where all three mutually exclusive outcomes resolve to Yes, rendering the market unresolvable as a prediction instrument. Polymarket correctly structures three separate binary markets with distinct outcomes.Hero tip: Avoid Kalshi's version entirely. It is fundamentally broken and will always pay out Yes. Trade only Polymarket's three separate markets (South Africa win, Canada win, Draw), which properly isolate outcomes and allow meaningful prediction.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Market structure resolves all three possible outcomes (Canada win, Tie, South Africa win) to Yes. This creates a logical contradiction where the market cannot distinguish between outcomes. Quote: All three conditions end with 'then the market resolves to Yes.'
  • Polymarket: Three separate binary markets with mutually exclusive outcomes: South Africa wins second half, Canada wins second half, or Draw. Each market resolves to its specific outcome or to Draw if game is canceled. Quote: 'This market will resolve to South Africa if... This market will resolve to Draw if... This market will resolve to Canada if...'

Polymarket

In the upcoming FIFA World Cup game between South Africa and Canada, scheduled for June 28, 2026 at 3:00 PM ET: This market will resolve to "South Africa" if South Africa score more goals than Canada in the second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time. This market will resolve to "Draw" if South Africa and Canada score the same number of goals in the second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time. This market will resolve to "Canada" if Canada score more goals than South Africa in the second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time. If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Draw". This market refers only to the outcome within the second half of regular play plus second-half stoppage time. First-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 24 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.

Kalshi

The second half winner is determined by which team scores more goals between the 45-minute mark and the end of the half, including stoppage time. A tie result occurs when no goals are scored during the second half or when both teams score an equal number of goals. If the match is cancelled or rescheduled to more than two weeks after the original June 28, 2026 date, the market will resolve to a fair price in accordance with established rules.

Frequently asked questions

The South Africa vs. Canada second half market aggregates trader positions across Polymarket and Kalshi, capturing real-time consensus on which team will prevail in the second half of their match. Traders on both platforms are pricing the likelihood of each outcome independently, creating a cross-platform view of market sentiment. The dashboard displays current odds, recent volume activity, and historical price movement, allowing you to monitor how confidence shifts as match conditions evolve. This multi-platform approach reveals whether consensus is building or diverging between communities of traders.

Prediction market odds reflect real-time trader sentiment and are often more dynamic than traditional sportsbook lines, which adjust less frequently and incorporate built-in margins. Sportsbooks price for profit; prediction markets price for accuracy, since traders profit by being right. This market may move faster during live play as new information emerges, whereas sportsbooks may lag or restrict betting. Comparing the two reveals whether the crowd on prediction markets sees value that bookmakers have missed or mispriced. Both sources are useful, but they operate on different incentive structures and update cadences.

Polymarket and Kalshi attract different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and regulatory frameworks, all of which influence how odds are set. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. User bases may weight recent form, team news, or injury reports differently, and order-book depth varies between platforms. Arbitrage opportunities sometimes persist because traders on one platform may not immediately react to price moves on the other. Monitoring both venues helps you spot mispricings and understand which signals each community is emphasizing most heavily.

Live match events will drive the largest price swings: early second-half goals, red cards, injuries to key players, and momentum shifts all trigger rapid repricing. Pre-match team news—lineup announcements, weather conditions, or late-breaking roster changes—can shift odds before kickoff. Trader behavior also matters; large bets from high-conviction participants can move prices even before the match begins. Monitoring social media, team statements, and injury reports in the hours before the match will help you anticipate where this market is likely to move and identify potential value.
