Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy emerges between this market and sportsbook odds, it may indicate that the crowd believes the sportsbook has mispriced the event. It’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are formed through different mechanisms and potentially different information sets.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a 'yes' share, for example, indicates the market's implied probability that the specified outcome will occur. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market remains responsive to new information and changing sentiment surrounding the Sokoltsov vs. Peretiatko match.
This market resolves around Oct 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Sokoltsov vs. Peretiatko match as reported by the governing sporting body. Traders should monitor official sources for the final result to understand how this market will be settled and ensure a smooth payout process.
