Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs and adjust prices based on new information. If sportsbook odds heavily favor one outcome, this market might show a more nuanced view, especially if there's uncertainty or potential for an upset. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, risk appetite, and analytical approaches between the two.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market efficiently aggregates information as traders react to news, analysis, and other relevant factors, driving price discovery. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of participants.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the Sokoltsov vs. Kulishov match is verifiable from credible public reporting.
