These markets evaluate how many points will be scored in the final quarter of a college football game between SMU and Louisville. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period.
The markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the SMU vs Louisville college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. All markets consider only points scored during regulation 4th quarter play. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the game’s final quarter. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, analytical approaches, or simply varying levels of confidence in a particular outcome. It’s common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, the total points in the 4th quarter being over or under the specified line. As more traders buy contracts representing a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts to reflect the aggregated beliefs of all participants, providing a real-time assessment of the likely score in the final quarter.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 4th quarter of the SMU vs Louisville game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, ensuring an accurate and transparent determination of whether the total points scored exceeded or fell short of the market’s threshold. The final result will be reported by official sports data providers and widely available through sports news outlets.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either SMU or Louisville would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift the odds. In-game performance during the first three quarters, specifically the offensive and defensive strategies employed by each team, will heavily influence trading activity. Any significant shifts in public perception or expert analysis could also contribute to price fluctuations.
