This set of markets tracks how many times each team scores touchdowns through the air in an upcoming college football matchup. The outcomes depend solely on the number of passes caught for touchdowns by each team's players during the game, including any overtime periods.
All markets resolve based on the official number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team during the SMU vs Florida St. college football game scheduled for Sep 7, 2026, with specific thresholds defined for each team (2+, 3+, and 4+). A receiving touchdown is counted only when a player catches the ball and scores without another player recovering a fumble. Touchdowns scored after a fumble recovery by another player or successful two-point conversions do not count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own analysis and aim to balance betting action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – and as the event draws closer, the odds on Kalshi may converge with or diverge from sportsbook odds, depending on how the collective prediction differs from professional oddsmakers’ assessments of the game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring, scaled to a value between 0 and 100. As more traders believe a team will score a touchdown, the price of the corresponding contract increases. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective expectations of participants regarding the likelihood of touchdowns in the SMU vs Florida St. game.
This market resolves around Sep 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on whether each team scores at least one touchdown during the game. Official game statistics and play-by-play data will be used to determine the number of touchdowns scored by each team. The market will settle to 100 if the outcome occurs, and 0 if it does not, based on the official game results.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Injury reports for key offensive players on either team would be a major catalyst, as would any changes to the expected weather conditions. Unexpected news regarding team strategies or coaching decisions could also influence trading activity. Furthermore, as the game approaches, any public statements from players or coaches about their offensive game plan could shift market sentiment. Any significant news related to the teams’ performance or player availability is likely to move this market.
