Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds can differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks due to the differing incentives and information sources of the participants. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and ensure profit, while prediction market participants are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This can lead to situations where this market reflects a different probability than what is implied by sportsbook odds, especially when new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It's common to see discrepancies, particularly in events where expert analysis suggests a different outcome than the general public expects.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the share price will climb, and vice-versa. This creates a dynamic pricing system that aggregates the collective wisdom of the crowd, offering a real-time assessment of the event’s potential results.

This market resolves around Oct 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
