Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, risk assessments, and levels of public interest. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks in response to new information or shifts in sentiment regarding the Slovakia vs. Slovenia match.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand, meaning it’s a direct expression of the wisdom of the crowd regarding the Slovakia vs. Slovenia match. This contrasts with fixed-odds betting where a bookmaker sets the price.

This market resolves around Sep 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Slovakia vs. Slovenia match as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine the winning outcome. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at the time of resolution. The exact payout will depend on the volume traded and the price of shares.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or unexpected weather conditions could significantly impact trader sentiment. Major upsets in other related matches, or even broader shifts in public opinion regarding the teams’ performance, could also drive price movements. Furthermore, large trades by influential market participants could create short-term volatility. Monitoring these signals will be key to understanding how this market evolves leading up to the Slovakia vs. Slovenia match.
