Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms and participant bases. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one aggregate the collective beliefs of traders who profit or lose based on accuracy. Prediction markets typically incorporate real-time information more dynamically, whereas sportsbooks may adjust more conservatively. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal whether traders are pricing the outcome differently than professional oddsmakers, highlighting potential value or consensus gaps.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different outcomes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the cumulative trading activity and the balance of capital allocated to each outcome. As traders place orders, the price adjusts to incentivize equilibrium. The spread between bid and ask prices represents the cost of immediate execution, and deeper liquidity typically narrows that spread, making it cheaper to enter or exit positions quickly.

This market resolves around Jul 26, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals during the second half, or whether the half ends in a draw. Resolution occurs after the event is officially confirmed, ensuring accuracy and fairness to all traders. Early resolution is not typical unless the match is abandoned or postponed under extraordinary circumstances.

Several factors can shift prices in this market before it resolves. Team news—such as injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes announced before kickoff—often triggers significant moves. First-half performance is a major catalyst; if one side dominates early, traders may reassess second-half probabilities based on fatigue, momentum, and tactical adjustments. Weather conditions, referee decisions, and red cards during the first half can also reshape expectations. Real-time updates during the match itself will drive the most volatile price swings as traders react to goals, near-misses, and tactical shifts.
