Description

In the upcoming VCT best-of-series match scheduled for 2026-07-21 17:00 UTC: if Gentle Mates GC wins the series, the market will resolve to "Gentle Mates GC"; if SK Nebula wins the series, the market will resolve to "SK Nebula". The series winner is the first team to win a majority of games. Individual games remade due to technical issues do not count as wins toward the series. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. In cases where a team's listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50. Resolution Source: official VCT broadcast and https://valorantesports.com/; community coverage on vlr.gg may be used as a supplementary source. Note: Opinion will resolve strictly based on the first officially published result from the designated source. Any subsequent revisions will not affect this resolution.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. This market aggregates decentralized trader conviction, which can lead to sharper or earlier price moves than traditional sportsbooks, especially as match-day information develops. Comparing the two can reveal where the broader market sees value or disagreement.

On Opinion, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each possible outcome. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the probability traders assign to that result, with the spread between buy and sell orders indicating market confidence and liquidity. Until that point, prices may fluctuate based on team news, injury reports, betting patterns, and other factors that influence perceived likelihood. Resolution is automatic once the event is confirmed, allowing payouts to be distributed promptly to winning positions.

Key catalysts include team roster announcements, injury updates, recent form and head-to-head records, and any coaching or tactical changes. Weather conditions, venue factors, and betting-market activity can also shift trader sentiment. As match day approaches, late-breaking news—such as lineup confirmations or player availability—often triggers sharp price moves. Social media sentiment, expert analysis, and shifts in broader sports betting markets may amplify these moves, so monitoring sports news outlets and team communications is valuable for anticipating this market's direction.
