Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, and can sometimes differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on their own models and risk management strategies, while this market is driven by the willingness of individuals to buy or sell contracts representing different outcomes. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, they may drive the price on Polymarket in that direction, creating a potential arbitrage opportunity. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before the event begins.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the aggregated sentiment. Higher demand for shares in a particular outcome will drive its price up, while increased selling pressure will lower it. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date predictions of the crowd.
This market resolves around Sep 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Shypilov vs. Mitla match, as reported by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine which outcome is the winner. Traders who correctly predicted the outcome will be paid out according to the final share price at the time of resolution, while those who bet on the losing outcome will forfeit their shares.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before Sep 24, 2026. Any news regarding the players' form, potential injuries, or changes in their coaching strategies could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about the match location or conditions could also have an impact. Publicly available analysis from sports experts and commentators, as well as any shifts in betting patterns on traditional sportsbooks, might also influence trading activity on Polymarket. Ultimately, any information that alters perceptions of the players' chances of winning could move the market.
