Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect a more nuanced and aggregated understanding of potential outcomes than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while prediction markets are driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. This can lead to differences, especially when public opinion diverges from expert analysis. However, both types of odds aim to accurately represent the probability of an event occurring. Comparing them can offer valuable insights into market sentiment and potential value bets for this market.
