Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which may be influenced by factors like house bias or initial public perception. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise from differing information sources or analytical approaches. If significant differences exist, it may present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders can profit by exploiting the mispricing between the two types of markets. Observing these differences can offer a unique perspective on the event’s probability.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome will happen, the higher the price of its shares will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all traders involved, creating a probabilistic forecast for the Shcherbak vs. Maslovskyi match.
This market resolves around Sep 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Shcherbak vs. Maslovskyi match as reported by the governing sports authority. The platform will then determine the winning outcome based on this official result, and shares will be settled accordingly. It’s important to note that the exact timing of resolution may depend on the speed at which official results are published and verified.
Several factors could influence the trading activity and price movement in this market.
