Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while prediction markets aim to represent the true probability of an event occurring, as determined by traders. While sportsbooks may initially be influenced by public perception, this market can quickly adjust to new information and expert analysis. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available, making them valuable for comparative analysis.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price converges towards what the crowd believes is the true probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the collective wisdom of those actively trading, and is influenced by any new information or developments related to the match.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
