Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus—buyers and sellers directly negotiate prices based on their beliefs about the outcome. This market's odds may lead or lag sportsbook lines depending on information flow and trader positioning. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd sees value or where sharp money is moving, though both are valid indicators of perceived probability.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker and order-book mechanism where traders directly set bid and ask prices for each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Shares representing different second-half results trade continuously, and the current price of each outcome reflects the marginal probability the market assigns to it. Higher prices indicate stronger trader conviction; lower prices suggest skepticism. You can enter limit or market orders to buy or sell shares at your chosen price or the best available rate.

This market resolves around Jul 26, 2026, once the match concludes and the second-half result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by what actually occurs during the second half of the Shandong Taishan versus Henan fixture—whether one team scores more goals, or both teams end level. Resolution happens automatically once the event data is confirmed, and all winning shares are paid out according to the outcome.

Several factors can shift odds before and during the match. Team news—injuries, lineup changes, or tactical announcements—often triggers repricing as traders update their expectations. Early match momentum, such as an early goal or red card in the first half, typically moves second-half odds sharply. Weather conditions, referee assignments, and recent form of both sides also influence trader positioning. As the first half unfolds, traders will adjust their bets on how the second half is likely to play out, so live score updates and in-game developments are key catalysts for price movement.
