For the Seattle versus Washington football match, this market will resolve based on whether each team scores at least one point in the fourth quarter. All standard scoring methods count towards this outcome, with the exception of overtime scoring which is not considered.
If Seattle and Washington both score points in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Seattle vs Washington Pro Football game originally scheduled for Sep 27, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes.
Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders, aims to represent the true probability of the event occurring. While sportsbooks may initially set lines based on team statistics and expert analysis, this market dynamically adjusts as new information and opinions emerge. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as the event draws nearer and more traders participate.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing 'Yes' or 'No' outcomes, and the price of each contract reflects the market's current expectation of that outcome's probability. As more traders buy 'Yes' contracts, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived chance of both teams scoring. Conversely, increased selling of 'Yes' contracts lowers the price. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth—the number of buy and sell orders at different price levels—provides insight into potential price movements.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, resolution will depend on whether both the Seattle and Washington teams score at least one point during the fourth quarter of the game. Official game statistics from a trusted source will be used to determine the final result. The market will then pay out to those who correctly predicted whether both teams would score, based on the final price of the 'Yes' and 'No' contracts at resolution.
Several factors could influence this market. Injury reports for key offensive players on either team would be significant, as they directly impact scoring potential. Unexpected weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also affect the game's scoring dynamics. Major shifts in public opinion, perhaps driven by pre-game analysis or breaking news, could also lead to price movements. Finally, any in-game events during the first three quarters—like a dominant performance by one team’s defense—could prompt traders to adjust their positions.
