Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit, while prediction markets like this one price outcomes based on trader consensus and real-money incentives. Prediction markets can sometimes reflect sharper or more granular views on specific events, especially when traders have strong conviction. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbook lines can reveal where professional and retail traders disagree on the second half outcome.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares, with the market price reflecting the collective probability estimate at any moment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim on the outcome, and the price you see is the current consensus among active traders. As match conditions change, new information arrives, or trader sentiment shifts, the price adjusts in real time. Higher prices indicate stronger trader confidence in that outcome occurring.
This market resolves around Jul 12, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals in the second half alone, independent of the first-half score. Resolution occurs after official match records confirm the final second-half result, ensuring accuracy and fairness for all traders.
Key catalysts include team lineups and injury announcements, which can shift expectations about attacking and defensive strength. First-half performance is a major signal—if one team dominates early, traders may adjust second-half outcome odds based on momentum and fatigue patterns. Weather conditions, referee decisions, and in-match tactical adjustments also influence trader sentiment. Real-time scoring during the second half will drive the most dramatic price movements as the actual outcome becomes clearer.
