Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the dashboard for the Mariners-Guardians first 5 innings winner market displays real-time odds on which team will be ahead after the first five innings of play. Traders can monitor live price movements, historical odds charts, and trading volume as the game approaches and unfolds. The interface shows the current probability implied by market participants, allowing you to track how sentiment shifts as new information emerges. You can also review 24-hour volume data and recent trade activity to gauge market liquidity and engagement around this specific matchup outcome.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets reflect the collective belief of traders betting real money on outcomes. This market aggregates the views of many independent participants, which can sometimes surface insights that traditional oddsmakers miss. However, sportsbook odds benefit from professional analytics and sharp action, so neither source is inherently more accurate. Comparing both can provide a fuller picture of how different betting venues assess the first five innings outcome.

On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker mechanism, where buying or selling shares directly moves the odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current implied probability reflects the cumulative positions of all participants; as more traders back one outcome, that side's price rises and the opposing side falls. Liquidity and trading volume influence how sharply prices respond to new information. You can enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes, with your execution price determined by the current pool state and your trade size.

This market resolves around Jun 27, 2026, once the first five innings of the game are complete and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team holds the lead after exactly five innings have been played. No extra innings, walk-offs, or late-game developments factor into the resolution—only the score at the end of the fifth inning matters. Once the outcome is confirmed, the market settles and winning positions are paid out automatically.

Several factors can shift odds before the game starts and during the first five innings. Lineup announcements, injury reports, and pitching matchups are key pre-game catalysts that traders monitor closely. Weather conditions, early scoring, and momentum swings during the game itself will prompt real-time repricing as traders update their expectations. Unexpected defensive plays, errors, or hot hitting can rapidly alter the balance of power. Breaking news about player availability or game conditions can also trigger sharp moves, so active traders watch for updates right up until first pitch and throughout the early innings.
