Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit, while prediction markets are driven by trader consensus and real-money conviction. This market may show different probabilities than major sportsbooks, particularly as new information emerges or as the event date approaches. Comparing the two can reveal where public opinion and professional oddsmakers disagree on the second half outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the ratio of shares held in the liquidity pool, with prices adjusting in real time as trades occur. Traders profit by correctly predicting the second half result, and the market price converges toward the true probability as more capital flows in and information becomes available.
This market resolves around Jul 27, 2026, once the match concludes and the second half result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official final score and result recorded for the second half of the fixture. Resolution occurs after the event is complete and the result is confirmed, at which point traders holding the correct outcome receive their payout based on the market's final price.
Key catalysts that could shift this market include team news such as injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes announced before kickoff. Pre-match analysis, recent form, head-to-head records, and betting syndicate activity can all influence trader positioning. Weather conditions, venue factors, and late-breaking tactical adjustments may also prompt repricing. As the match approaches and real-time events unfold during the first half, market prices typically adjust sharply in response to actual performance and momentum shifts.
