Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. This market reflects the wisdom of the crowd, where traders collectively assess the probabilities of each outcome. Sportsbooks, on the other hand, set their odds based on internal models and often incorporate a profit margin. Therefore, discrepancies can arise, potentially indicating where the market believes a sportsbook has mispriced the event. It’s always useful to compare both to form your own informed opinion.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand. As more traders believe Darja Semenistaja will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa.
