Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)
Kalshi and Polymarket both resolve based on the official match outcome within 90 minutes plus stoppage time on April 4, 2026, using MLS Soccer official statistics as the primary source, with identical scope and timing requirements.
Primary resolution logic:
Official MLS Soccer statistics (mlssoccer.com) as recognized by the governing body; if unavailable within 2 hours post-match, credible reporting consensus may be used.
Core resolution logic:
Market resolves based on the final score after 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time only (no extra time or penalties).
Three mutually exclusive outcomes are possible: San Jose Earthquakes win, San Diego FC win, or Tie.
Exactly one outcome will occur and resolve the corresponding market(s) to YES; all other outcomes resolve to NO.
Resolution scope is identical across both platforms: regulation time only, same match date (April 4, 2026), same teams.
Edge cases & Clarifications:
Match Postponement: If the match is postponed, both platforms keep markets open until the game is completed and played. Resolution then occurs based on the rescheduled match outcome.
Match Cancellation: If the match is canceled entirely with no make-up game, Kalshi markets resolve YES (all three outcomes covered), while Polymarket's draw market resolves YES and win markets resolve NO. This reflects the platforms' different handling of cancellation scenarios.
Timing:
Resolution occurs within 2 hours after the match concludes on April 4, 2026, based on official MLS Soccer statistics; if official statistics are not published within 2 hours, credible reporting consensus is used as the fallback source.
