In the upcoming MLS game between San Jose Earthquakes and Portland Timbers, scheduled for September 26, 2026 at 10:30 PM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the San Jose Earthquakes vs. Portland Timbers match originally scheduled for September 26, 2026 at 10:30 PM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by the collective predictions of individuals. It's common to see discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from the sportsbook's initial assessment. However, as the event approaches, the odds on Predict and sportsbook lines often converge, as both attempt to accurately reflect the probability of each outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the San Jose Earthquakes versus Portland Timbers match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result declared by the league, and will determine which exact score prediction was correct. Traders who correctly predicted the final score will be eligible to receive payouts based on the odds at the time of their trade. The market will close prior to the final whistle, preventing any last-minute trading based on in-game events.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. News regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either the Earthquakes or the Timbers would likely cause shifts in probabilities. Changes in team form, such as a surprising win or loss in a recent match, could also impact trader sentiment. Even weather forecasts, particularly if severe weather is expected on game day, could play a role. Finally, any significant pre-match analysis from respected soccer commentators or analysts could sway opinions and move the market on Predict.
