This group concerns a baseball game between the San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals. One market asks who will win the game, while the other asks if the game will go to extra innings. These are distinct outcomes.
If at least 1 extra inning is played in the San Francisco vs St. Louis professional baseball game originally scheduled for Sep 16, 2026 at 1:15 PM EDT, then the market resolves to Yes.
In the upcoming MLB game between the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals, scheduled for September 16 at 1:15PM ET: This market will resolve to "San Francisco Giants" if the San Francisco Giants win the game. This market will resolve to "St. Louis Cardinals" if the St. Louis Cardinals win the game. If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official final statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 24 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.
Prediction market odds, like those found on Kalshi and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives of participants. Sportsbooks aim to profit by setting lines that attract balanced betting, while prediction market participants are incentivized to express their genuine beliefs about the outcome. This can lead to prediction markets being more accurate, especially when incorporating diverse information. Furthermore, the continuous trading in prediction markets allows odds to adjust rapidly to new information, potentially offering a more responsive reflection of changing expectations than static sportsbook lines for this market.
