These markets track whether the San Francisco Unicorns and MI New York will exceed specific run thresholds in their Major League Cricket match scheduled for July 8, 2026. Bettors are predicting offensive performance at various scoring levels for each team during the game.
Resolution is based on the total runs scored by each team as recorded in the official match result. If the match is cancelled before play begins or delayed more than 48 hours from the scheduled start time, all markets resolve to fair market price as determined by the Exchange. If play begins but no official result is declared (including via DLS method), markets resolve to fair market price except for statistics already definitively achieved, which resolve on recorded results. For shortened matches with an official result declared through DLS or other ICC-approved methods, statistical markets resolve based on actual recorded statistics only, without projections or adjustments.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader belief and capital allocation. This market aggregates the collective judgment of participants wagering real money on the outcome, which can reveal insights that differ from traditional oddsmaking, particularly when public perception lags behind emerging game conditions or team performance data.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing different run-total outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the marginal probability assigned by the last matched trade, and the spread between bid and ask widens or tightens based on liquidity and conviction. As new information surfaces or game conditions change, traders adjust their positions, causing prices to move dynamically throughout the trading window.
This market resolves around Jul 9, 2026, once the game concludes and the final combined run total is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official box score reported by the league, ensuring an objective and transparent settlement. Until that point, traders can continue to adjust their positions based on live game developments, injury updates, or other factors that influence scoring expectations.
Key catalysts for this market include lineup announcements, pitcher rotations, weather conditions at game time, and any late-breaking injury news affecting either team's offensive capability. Early game performance—such as quick scoring or strong pitching—often triggers sharp repricing as traders update their run-total expectations in real time. Betting market activity on related props and sportsbook line movements can also signal shifting consensus, prompting traders here to rebalance their positions before the final outcome is locked in.
