Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives and information sources. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while prediction markets reflect the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This market, for example, may show a different probability for a Giants win than a typical sportsbook. Prediction markets can sometimes be more accurate, especially when a large and diverse group of participants contribute to the pricing. However, sportsbooks often offer more markets and may adjust lines more quickly to breaking news.
