Description

This event group covers the outcome of the San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks MLB game scheduled for July 1, 2026 at 9:40 PM ET. Markets track both the full-game winner and the leader at the conclusion of the 5th inning, with one platform also covering extra-innings scenarios.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Three platforms offer markets on different scopes of the same game: Kalshi covers extra-innings occurrence, Predict covers full-game winner, and Polymarket covers first-5-inning leader. These are distinct settlement events, not variations of the same market.Hero tip: Treat each platform's market as a separate bet. A Giants full-game win does not automatically resolve Kalshi (which only cares about extra innings) or guarantee Polymarket (which only cares about the 5th inning score). Cross-platform hedging is possible but requires careful position tracking.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Binary extra-innings market. Resolves Yes if game goes to extra innings, No otherwise. Scope: entire game, but outcome is binary (extra innings or not). Key quote: 'If San Francisco and Arizona go to extra innings...then the market resolves to Yes.'
  • Predict: Full-game winner market. Resolves to Giants or Diamondbacks based on final score. Ternary outcome with 50-50 split for cancellation/tie. Scope: complete game. Key quote: 'This market will resolve to "San Francisco Giants" if the San Francisco Giants win the game.'
  • Polymarket: First-5-inning leader market. Resolves to Giants, Diamondbacks, or Draw based on score at end of 5th inning only. Ternary outcome. Scope: first 5 innings only. Key quote: 'This market will resolve to "San Francisco Giants" if the San Francisco Giants is winning the game at the conclusion of the 5th inning.'

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like those tracked here operate on peer-to-peer pricing rather than traditional sportsbook margins. Traders directly set odds by buying and selling shares, which typically produces tighter spreads and faster price discovery than fixed sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks build in juice or vig to guarantee profit; prediction markets instead reward accurate forecasters with winnings from less-informed traders. This mechanism often yields more efficient pricing, especially for niche outcomes like extra innings, where sportsbook liquidity may be limited.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, risk tolerances, and information sets. Predict and Kalshi also operate under distinct contract rules, fee structures, and liquidity pools, which can cause temporary price gaps. Kalshi's binary structure and regulatory framework may appeal to different participants than Predict's share-based model. Arbitrage traders typically exploit these gaps, but until they do, the platforms can show materially different odds on the same underlying event.

Key catalysts include injury updates to star players on either roster, bullpen depth changes, and weather forecasts for game day, all of which affect scoring likelihood and thus extra-inning probability. Recent team form and head-to-head matchup history also influence trader sentiment. As game time approaches, betting action at sportsbooks and sharp-money movement on other platforms can signal shifting expectations. Any late-breaking roster news or venue-specific conditions will likely trigger repricing across this market.
