Price differences between Polymarket and Kalshi arise from varying user bases, liquidity levels, and trading mechanics. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform’s community may weigh different factors—such as recent performance trends or public sentiment—when assigning probabilities. Additionally, distinct fee structures and order types can influence how traders place bets, leading to divergent odds even when tracking the same event.
Injuries to key players, changes in coaching strategy, and weather updates can all shift this market as the game approaches. Performance in prior matchups, media narratives, and betting volume spikes on either Polymarket or Kalshi also influence trader sentiment. Any sudden news affecting either team’s readiness or form may cause rapid probability adjustments in the final days before resolution.
