This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between San Diego State and UCLA. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined in that specific quarter.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the designated college football game. A 'Yes' outcome occurs when the combined score exceeds the specified threshold for each individual market. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game does not start within this window, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during regulation 4th quarter play are counted; overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on models and internal analysis, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. It’s common to see differences emerge, especially as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts. Comparing the two can be a useful exercise for informed decision-making, though it's important to remember they represent distinct forecasting approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their predictions about the 4th quarter total. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades result in financial gains. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and changing opinions, reflecting a collective forecast of the event's outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 4th quarter of the San Diego St. vs UCLA game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by a recognized sports data provider. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct 4th quarter total will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on incorrect outcomes will not. The final score will serve as the definitive basis for determining the winning contracts.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team strategy, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance from key players during the game itself would also likely cause significant price movement. Furthermore, large trading volume from informed participants could signal new information or a change in expectations, impacting the overall price of contracts in this market.
