Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the first goal scorer market dashboard tracks real-time odds and trading activity for which team will score first in this matchup. The interface displays current prices, historical price movements, and 24-hour volume of $209 to help traders monitor sentiment shifts. This market reflects how prediction market participants are pricing the likelihood of San Diego FC or FC Dallas finding the net first, updated continuously as new trades execute and match conditions evolve.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they aggregate real-time trader conviction rather than following fixed bookmaker spreads. On this market, participants continuously adjust prices based on team form, injury reports, and tactical analysis, whereas sportsbooks may lag or apply wider margins. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal where traders see value—either backing an underdog or fading consensus favorites—making prediction markets a useful cross-check for identifying mispriced outcomes.

On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker that converts buy and sell orders into real-time probability quotes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome—San Diego FC scoring first or FC Dallas scoring first—is represented as a separate contract, and the sum of all outcome prices equals one dollar. As traders place orders, the price of each outcome adjusts instantly, ensuring the market remains balanced and reflecting the collective belief of all active participants.

This market resolves around Jul 26, 2026, once the match concludes and the first goal is verified. The outcome is determined by which team scores the opening goal during regulation play. Resolution occurs after credible public sources confirm the event result, ensuring all traders have access to the same verified information before final settlement.

Key catalysts include team news such as injuries to key forwards or defensive players, official lineup announcements, and recent form trends heading into kickoff. Weather conditions at the venue, head-to-head tactical matchups, and historical scoring patterns between these sides can all shift trader positioning. Live match developments—early pressure, possession patterns, or early chances—will drive sharp price movement as the game unfolds and new information becomes available to market participants.
