The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. For exact-score markets like this one, sportsbooks typically offer limited outcome selections, whereas prediction markets may price dozens of possible scorelines simultaneously. Traders in this market may spot value by comparing their own expectations against both sportsbook spreads and the consensus prices emerging here, though each venue operates independently.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader buy and sell orders into real-time probabilities for each exact-score outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares representing specific scorelines—for example, a 1–0 San Diego victory—and the price of those shares reflects the collective confidence in that result. As more traders buy or sell a particular outcome, its price moves up or down, continuously rebalancing the odds. This mechanism ensures that the most heavily traded scorelines command the highest prices, while less-favored outcomes remain cheaper.
This market resolves around Jul 26, 2026, once the San Diego FC versus FC Dallas match concludes and the final score is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the exact scoreline at the end of regulation time. Traders who correctly predicted the final score before resolution will receive payouts proportional to their position size, while incorrect predictions expire worthless. The resolution process is automated once the official result is confirmed, ensuring all traders receive their winnings or losses simultaneously.
Team news—injuries to key players, lineup changes, or tactical shifts—can significantly alter the probability of specific scorelines. Recent form, head-to-head history, and home-field advantage all influence trader expectations and drive price movement. Weather conditions on match day may favor one team's style of play, prompting repositioning. As kickoff approaches, late-breaking roster updates or unexpected absences often trigger sharp moves in this market. Live betting activity and real-time match events will also influence prices, though most trading typically concentrates in the hours immediately before the match begins.
