Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially early in the market’s life, as prediction markets can incorporate information and analysis more quickly than sportsbooks. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage or simply indicate differing perspectives on the likely outcome of the Krueger vs Gorzny match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand from traders on Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or a central authority setting the odds. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly adjust to new information and reflect the collective intelligence of its participants.
